If it doesn’t match the target frame shiny, then you missed the frame.ģ. Check your starter’s IV’s in the Pokédex-IV Checker option in RNG Reporter’s top-left corner. If it’s female, but RNG Reporter says the shiny Pokémon should be male, then it’s not a match.Ģ. On the battle menu, go to “Pokémon,” then “Summary,” then look at the nature. If any of these do not match what RNG Reporter gave you, you missed the frame while selecting your starter.ġ. Check your Pokémon’s gender in the 12.5% column. Step 14: There’s a couple steps to take to confirm. You’ll start the battle, and if your starter is shiny, congrats! But you probably weren’t that accurate, so let’s check if the SID you tried out is correct or if you mistimed the starter choice frame. Go through the opening scenes, open Birch’s bag, press A on your desired starter once, and as soon as the Eon Timer hits zero, press the “Yes” option. Step 13: Press “Start” on the Eon Timer, and as soon as the Pre-Timer hits zero, soft reset your game (on the GBA SP this is done by pressing START, SELECT, A, and B at the same time. Eon Timer will count down exactly how long we have to wait for us to hit that frame. That shiny frame is what’s in RNG Reporter. Answer: Not a question, ok, but what we just did is we found the exact frame we have to land on in order for our Pokémon to be shiny (assuming the SID you put into RNG Reporter is the shiny one). But my recommendation if the smallest is more than 4000 frames is to enter a different SID from your list and get back to it later. If you don’t have a dry battery, you might be able to do it in 500 frames? That’s a guess though.

If the smallest number is smaller than 1000 and you have a dry battery, just use the next lowest number. Step 12: Enter the result of the frame box into the Eon Timer. Question: Why 1000? Wasn’t our target frame 950? Answer: It takes exactly 50 frames for the game to generate your ID after pressing A at the “.see you in my lab” screen. On mine, this corresponds to the SID of 22155. Let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and say you did it perfectly, so 1000. Step 11: Type your ID into the box, then choose one of the SID’s and put it in. I also changed the color to green because I like green. It’ll also beep at you 6 or 7 times before 0:00.0. Change the “Countdown Mode” to “A/V” to help you see the countdown better. Step 4: Go to the Eon Timer and go the settings icon. We’ll want frame-perfect timing here (though any mistakes will be resolved later). Step 3: Name your character but DO NOT hit OK yet. This is tedious, ok? (But certainly less tedious than SR’ing 8000 times) Google will work perfectly fine, so why am I even including this?ĥ. Something to do on the side, like music, or a movie.

Here’s a link to a place where you can download both: Ĥ. Something to convert to hexadecimal. The wonderful RNG Reporter and Eon Timer. Make sure if you use a laptop to plug it in, as power saving mode can slow stuff down (more on that later)ģ. You’ll have to do your own research if you have something else. I like Windows, so I’ll share what I used.

Pokémon Emerald and the stuff to play it, like a GBA or DS, plus chargers and such (duh). Step 2: Now that I’ve weeded out those who don’t really want shinies, I should let you know the required materials.ġ. Basically every way to guarantee shinies in Emerald requires this, so if you want your shiny black Rayquaza, listen up and behave. Otherwise this may be a little difficult to wrap your brain around. Notice: It may be helpful to read up a bit on Emerald’s broken RNG. My research into this was learning aout how Emerald’s broken RNG works. Haha, I’m back from the grave! But that’s not why you’re here and I know that.ĭisclamer: I’m typing out an edited version of this Youtube video. I literally haven’t posted in three years.
